Live mural demonstration @ Sunday markets, Brick Lane, London UK 2015
Olas One is a Post-Graffiti Muralist/ Illustrator home to Mulubinba (Newcastle) Australia.
Since 2008, Olas One has been shaping his art into ‘Post-graffiti’ Abstract murals, with influences from sub cultures such as the 60’s Hippy Movement, Japanese neo-traditional tattoo motifs & the natural beauty of the Australian coastal environment.
Raised between the Outback and the East coast of Australia, he was drawn at an early age to Mother Nature’s palettes and textures. He always had a need to scribble and sketch, but it wasn’t until his teens he was captivated by Graffiti art and Hip Hop culture. The bold writing culture and the powerful force of the graffiti movement completely swept him off his feet. The technical skill, tag forms, letter compositions, the risk involved, fresh colour palettes and clean outlines of the legends of Newcastle left him in awe. It was love at first sight. It was these fond early days that inspired him to pursue and articulate his own Graffiti style. It gave a new direction to his art and gave his art a serving purpose.
Olas One is now a full time working artist since 2020 and a internationally recognised graffiti artist, participating in cultural events and international mural festivals. It was due to Graffiti, these fundamental style writing lessons that were handed down, that he has been able grow as an artist into other mediums, his style has been able to translate from the Graffiti language into Large-scale Murals and Illustrations for brands such as Red Bull and 4 Pines Brewery.
